Now I hope none of you have forgotten about the Nandos competition I was talking about weeks ago. The exhibition was held at 1 Utama that day. It was SO EARLY IN THE MORNING that not many people were there to witness the art event. Disappointingly, I didn't win anything. Moreover, none of us won anything. But what really ticked my classmate and I off that day was when we arrived at the opening ceremony, MAJORITY OF THE ARTWORKS HAD CHICKEN AND CHILIES ON IT!
We were SPECIFICALLY told that the judges clearly stated that this year, there will NOT be any necessity to include any pictures of CHICKEN or CHILLIES to describe the title, HERITAGE. But lo and behold, we saw everything with the little annoying feathered friend and chillies. But that wasn't the only main pissing point.
The JUDGES chose the artworks with those 2 infamous ELEMENTS. Awesome. Ah well, what did I even expect getting anything with 3 naked chicks posing on my canvas anyway. Bah!
This was one of the most detail work presented. See the frame of the artwork? It's detail in INK, as in PEN INK. Very good work.

See that artwork right in the middle of this picture? IT'S A FRIGGIN HUGE ASS CHICKEN! Made of PLASTIC. But i gotta say that the artist was creative folding the plastic into a shape of that. Pssh, lucky bum.

Ah yes, Nando's actually served us with THEIR food after the whole event thing. Now imagine my smiling face turning into a frown, muttering "IT SUCKED". Only the salad was good though. Huh.

The GRAND PRIZE WINNER of Nandos 2010 goes to THIS gigantic CHICKEN stamp!
Yeah i know. The CHICKEN again. But i gotta hand it to this guy, man. He's was LAST YEAR'S winner, okay. Don't mess.
What he created was this huge 'stamp' that was made out of the canvas itself and, if i'm not mistaken, he used this ink called BITUMEN that gives a shade of that old looking brown colour. Plus i think he added a little bit of some coffee maybe? Hm.
And for the drawing would be definitely ink. Trust me, it looks like it's printed from here but if you took a step CLOSER to it, wow.
So... I wonder where my three ladies are. Up till today, I honestly never took it back. Yet. Was kinda disappointed but we'll see what happens next year.
Cheerio.
Cheerio.
I sound so pissed with chickens and chillies here :(
